We're on the lookout for Canada's most innovative female founded technology ventures.  Over the next two months we're accepting applicants to pitch at one of two Girls Raising Presentation Events in either Vancouver or Toronto.  Two winning teams from each of these event will be selected to participate in exclusive programming in New York City where they will be introduced to the cities start-up ecosystem as well as key investors, channel partners, mentors and industry experts.

Girls Raising is a unique series of events that help women founders get publicity, network with like-minded entrepreneurs, and meet influential women (and men) who can move their businesses forward.    


4 pre-selected founders will present their startup to an elite panel active investors and seasoned entrepreneurs.  Each founder will receive feedback questions and targeted actionable advice.

Our Presentaton events support, educate and encourages female entrepreneurship. It's our aim to help women build the confidence and network necessary to raising financing and improve their business model.  Our events are an opportunity for guests to preview the great companies being built by women and to hear from the most successful and influential investors and entrepreneurs out there.

Panelists

Brooke Harley

Founder & Partner, Campfire Capital


Having established a track record in identifying and investing in successful early stage consumer brands, Brooke founded Campfire Capital in 2014 and is the fund’s Managing Partner. Prior to Campfire, Brooke served as lululemon athletica’s Director of Business Development for 5 years, where she led the negotiation, valuation and acquisition of the company’s outstanding franchises and international joint ventures and led the market entry operations for Asia and Europe.


Prior to lululemon, Brooke worked as an attorney in mergers & acquisitions. Brooke brings over 10 years of experience in the retail, corporate acquisition and venture capital space. 




Boris Mann

Managing Partner, Full Stack


Boris has been active in the Vancouver startup ecosystem for over a decade. His first local startup was Bryght, the first commercial Drupal company. He then went on to co-found Bootup Labs, the first startup accelerator in Canada.

He co-founded Full Stack, an angel investment firm, that was one of the top 5 most active investors in Canada in 2013.


Boris recently co-founded HUMAN, a firm that improves & creates products through prototypes, business design, and interaction research.

Tanis Jorge

Founder & COO Trulioo


Tanis is co-founder and COO of Trulioo where she aspires to create the world’s first social driven identity bureau that provides online businesses tools to know their users better while enabling consumers to manage and control their own identity.


In 1999, Ms. Jorge co-founded iQuiri Inc., Canada’s first company to sell credit reports online. Her primary responsibilities were online and affiliate marketing which quickly made iQuiri the largest affiliate marketing partner in the online credit reporting industry in Canada.


Ms. Jorge co-founded NCB Data Services Inc. in 2004 and was in charge of hiring and training sales and marketing staff in the Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal offices.


She was also a Co-founder of Pharos Global Strategies Inc., where she facilitated and brokered the acquisition of Northern Credit Bureaus to Experian in 2006. 

Cybele Negris

Co-Founder President Webnames.ca


Cybele Negris is Co-Founder of Webnames.ca, Canada’s original .CA Registrar and one of the country’s leading Internet solutions companies.


The multi-million dollar company has an impressive client list including many of Canada’s as well as Global Fortune 500 companies.


Over the years Cybele has amassed several awards including: PROFIT W100 – Canada’s Top Women Entrepreneurs, (2004 to 2009), Finalist, YWCA Women of Distinction (2006), Finalist, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Pacific (2005); and Business in Vancouver’s Top 40 Under 40 (2003).
